Daniil Medvedev has had a strange 2022 season. After defeating Novak Djokovic in the US Open final last year, many expected big things from him this year. However, he hasn’t had the best of seasons as he would have liked. Earlier this year, he lost in the final of the Australian Open against Rafael Nadal after being two sets up. Subsequently, he has had up and down form this season. His only title in 2022 came at the ATP 250 tournament in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Medvedev is in France to participate in the Moselle Open. However, his campaign at the tournament has come to an end after a shocking defeat against Stanislas Wawrinka. During their match, Medvedev was involved in an altercation with the crowd.
